Get all up in your feels with this Thematic Unit 😊😍😁🀩

Hi Reader!

After all the talk about what students love during Valentine's Day activities, I always found a natural next step in my thematic units was to focus on feelings and emotions.

Some of my favorite activities to teach about emotions include:

  • talking about emotions, what causes them, and coping strategies for what we call BIG emotions (The Way I Feel by Janan Cain is a GREAT resource for this!)
  • making silly emoji faces πŸ˜œπŸ˜‰πŸ˜πŸ˜‹πŸ€¨πŸ˜±
  • cooking activities with different faces such as waffles, rice cakes, or english muffin pizzas!

Unsure where to start? Each of my thematic units has 12 different cross-curricular activities to get you started or to supplement your district curriculum including my great Feelings Thematic Unit. These activities are low and no-prep and engaging!

This month check out:

  • 😊 Vocabulary Word and Picture Cards
  • 😊 Visual Recipes for Feeling Faces Rice Cakes
  • 😊 Weekend Reports for home communication (2)
  • 😊 Reading Communication Boards for The Way I Feel and When Sophie Gets Angry-- Really Really Angry...
  • 😊 Emotion Graphing
  • 😊 Emoji Counting
  • 😊 Emotion Sorting Cut & Paste Activities
  • 😊 Emotions BINGO
  • 😊 My Emotions Book Writing Activity
  • 😊 Feelings Board Game (featured below!)

Do you have a diverse group of students this year? Don't worry! I have that covered too. Every activity in each of my thematic units includes ideas for accommodating and extending to meet your students' needs. I have also included this unit in a variety of bundles to meet your lesson planning (and budgetary) needs!

Until next time!
