Hi Reader! Each year for Valentine's Day, my class did activity rotations with the other special education classrooms in the building. The year I got married my fiance surprised me with a singing telegram made up of a quartet of ladies singing old-timey love songs... right in the middle of our rotations. I was MORTIFIED! π³ Back then I was terrified of being the center of attention... which was ironic as a teacher! Eleven years later and it is a favorite Valentine's Day memory. Another favorite Valentine's Day memory was having my entire class share what they loved about each other and adding it to a personalized poster for each student. It was so cute seeing how the kids described each other and how excited everyone got. Keep reading to grab this freebie and try it out in your classroom! Now this activity is part of my Valentine's Day Thematic Group Unit along with 11 other activities including graphing candy hearts, making milkshakes, and playing Valentine BINGO! β This month I also love to read Happy Valentine's Day, Mouse! from the If You Give a Mouse a Cookie series by Laura Numeroff and Felicia Bond. It is a super cute story about what Mouse loves about all of his friends and is a great story to read before the poster activity. I even created a Picture Book Communication and Comprehension unit to accompany the book with vocabulary, sentence building, comprehension, progress monitoring, and IEP goal ideas! β Grab my bundle of these resources and you are all set for the week! I have two great blog posts over at missallisonsspedspot.org about Valentine's Day in my room if you are looking for more ideas. β

I taught in an elementary special education classroom where I created countless individualized supports, organizational tools, and differentiated activities for my students before transitioning to my current position on an autism and low-incidence coaching team where I have had the pleasure of meeting and helping teachers in hundreds of classrooms in the Dayton, Ohio area. I am passionate about special education and helping teachers!
Hi Reader! Don't worry because I have you covered! Over the years in my classroom, I have created several evergreen product lines, meaning they can be used any time throughout the school year! Hi Reader! Animals are a common special interest in my classroom so I have taken full advantage over the years of using animals to teach a variety of skills. I have created over 70 different activities for reading, math, cooking, science, communication, games, writing, and more! For my TPT store, I divided all of my animal activities into thematic units by narrowing down the topic because I know not everyone can cover all 70 activities each year. I created units for Animals & Habitats, Animal...
Hi Reader! The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats is one of my absolute favorite picture books. I love it so much that when I was pregnant I insisted my husband stop by Kohl's to grab a little stuffed Peter doll for our baby boy. It was his very first doll! I love the pictures, the sequence of the story, the mystery of the missing snowball, and all of the great vocabulary I can teach my students as we read. This was actually the very first Communication and Comprehension set I made for my TPT...
